Magical Girl Raising Project

Monday-Friday, Week 7

4 REMAIN

Four people left. There are finally four people left. It's the magic number that Fav gave to everyone to end the game. But the game is still going, as the final four awaken from their slumber in Town A. It's quiet, absurdly so. At least... at first.

"Four people remain," the voice comes out of the intercom, the voice of the one everyone knows as M at around 10 in the morning. "In regards to the killer, I have found them and captured them. They will not be killing anybody any longer. Now that there are four of you, I shall test you, for the final investigation and trial, to see if you are worthy of leaving. You will have to retake the trial you failed and continue with a trial to figure out the killer of those seven people and the truth of this place. The locations ahead of you have been opened, and I will not give you any false clues. You have until Saturday. You may also find new clues around the town as well if you look. Good luck."

And just as she's said, if anybody looks outside and goes far north, they'll find the impurity gone - not just there, but almost everywhere - replaced with brand new locations, just like most weeks prior.

Monday

Morning - North Apartments
[ .... you know, the impurity blocking the door of her room being gone isn't all that bad a thing to wake up to. Jumping out of the window had held its own appeal, but it got old pretty fast, like a lot of things here.
Miach feeds Foucault and Pikachu (the other Pokemon are left within their balls for convenience's sake) and then leaves them to play with each other. She'd been doubtful at first about their compatibility but they seem to get along just fine. So why not. Less for her to take care of all day.

Grabbing Fornicaras, which she currently carries strapped to her back because that is the only way she can reasonably deal with its size in daily life, Miach sets out to leave the house. But first, she does a quick check of the apartment complex to see if the other impurities are gone. If there's anything else off there, she'll notice now. ]

Morning - Library
[ She walks into the building and her first thought is 'seriously??' and it comes even before the joy of finally having something to read. This is too much and too late in the game and the idea that this was there the whole time, locked from her, is frustrating.
Another thing that is frustrating is how small the library makes her feel. In her worlds, books made her feel big and privilege. She had printed every single one in her collection herself, they were a testament to her dedication to her own doings. Now she stands among the amassed treasures of another, crushed by the gigantic weight of how much she doesn't yet know.

After a second of thought, that makes her laugh. Yes, this kind of feeling, this kind of discomfort.... how beautifully the Japan of her time had shielded her from it. But here, she's alive. She has to fend for herself against these odds and nobody is there to make them seem any less intimidating.

So, of course, she spends the next few hours giving cursory looks through all the rooms of the library. ]

Afternoon - Graveyard
[ Seems like a worthwhile place to pass by on the way back. Miach enjoys the atmosphere that speaks of old history and the inevitable nature of sickness and death. Despite the exhaustion that is washing over her here, she makes a point to skip and jump through the rows of tombstones, paying attention to the names and lifespans (if shown) of the deceased. Dead, dead, dead again. Because people were never meant to live forever. ]

Evening - Restaurant
[ Miach skipped lunch due to her library escapade and by now she's feeling lightheaded. Going without food for too long has always done a number on her well-being. So it's time to stuff herself on a meal with the triple helping of rice as compared to what would normally be served. Yay. ]

Tuesday

Early morning to early evening - Library
[ Find Miach in the library, wrapped in Dahlia's shawl for comfort (the bloodstains are still visible on it even though it has been washed) and with Fornicaras leaning against a wall next to her. She's reading. There's so much reading. She also brought snacks in order to avoid skipping meals like yesterday.
If you're in the library today, you might stumble over Miach lazing just about anywhere, book in hand, other books by her side, munching on some peanuts. ]

Evening - Inn Bath House
[ Miach is taking a lengthy bath as she does every once in a while when showering doesn't feel enough. That's... all that is happening here. ]

Wednesday

Morning - Morgue
[ Just passing by here quickly for nostalgia's sake, shh. And to see if anyone has messed with any of the lockers lately. And maybe to say hi to a few buddys' corpses, shhh. ]

Morning - Inn
[ Time for some amateur necromancy! Miach will go first to Dahlia's room and then to Szayel's room and repeat the same procedure in both:

She'll put down a notebook and write the words This is Miach. Can you talk to me without exerting too much energy? yes/no down. She'll also repeat the out loud. And then wait for a bit. It's worth a shot? ]

Rest of the day - Library
[ She's really gotten cozy in here. Reading is good, you know? Today Foucault and Pikachu are with her. ]

[There are a few things that Miach will notice upon arriving inside the crystal library. The first is the fact that everything is literally made of crystal, outside of the books. The second is that there's a large podium near the front of the library with a large rectangle indent.

All the way north is a spiral staircase upstairs, along the sides of the staircase seems to be pillars holding glass statues of people. The only person she might recognize is Inaba, as she's the only one who's been seen with a face.]

[Sometime first thing Monday- be it by invitation or a little teensy tiny bit of exerted force- Recette's attempted to assemble the final 4 people remaining into the traitors room. She's holding up her notebook -thankfully not the kiss note one-. It's open to an page with Game Plan!!! Operation Get Our Friends And More Back And Kick M's Hiney!!! written out in bubble letters and all fancied up.

There's an actually kinda decent doodle of Seraphina, Recette, Miach, and Zange striking a SWEET TEAM POSE below the fancy letters.]

So things have gotten bad. Like really bad. But, there's still hope. We just need to find two more keys, figure this place out, AND do the retrial for... Eliza's... t-trial right this time.

[Recette takes an deep breath and grips Zack's scythe to anchor herself. Crown nudges her worriedly and she gives an smile.]

There may be only four of us left- heck, note even four of us who KNOW each other that well. A lot of us haven't really talked outside of trials. But, if we want our friends back and alive, we can't go off and try and do this alone or without trust. So, I'm asking all you to please work together and share information about anything you think'll help. If we want to end this game and get our friends back, we're gonna need to do it togeather.

[She's not sure if it'll work, if they'll listen.... but she has hope.]

So... I put togeather an plan after M said all that too us earlier over the... thingy.

[she's not sure what to call the intercom.]

If we check every single nook and cranny we have and haven't been again then we're totally sure to find the last two keys. And maybe that book we need we can get now? I'm gonna go to the tower later today to look around and see if we can talk to the ghosts again if anyone wants to join me.

For figuring this place out, we need to look at all the new stuff, and see if the old places have anything new too. We've done investigations before, so it's nothing new, right?

[That's the part she's least worried about. Now onto the one she IS
worried about.]

For th-the retrial.... well... Since we only ever failed one- Eliza's - that's the one we're redoing. I hoarded an bunch of evidence, so if anyone wants to look, I put it over there for everyone to have easy access too.

[She points to the table she's dragged in here and set everything up on.]

I have an bunch of thoughts on it... but maybe starting thinking about it from scratch is better.

But uh.... right now an important thing to remember is that One and Kaine were confirmed by Fav to be innocent after he made them fight. So by the super awesome power of elimination, we only have Miach, Dahlia, and Sza...Szayel... Sizzle... ugh-sorry about this Mister Pink- Suzy as our suspect list. Miach, since you're like the only suspect alive still, I'm gonna need you to be honest about if you did it or not. I don't think you did, but I need to be super thorough here. Since you're probably not though, I'm gonna... no we're gonna help figure out Dahlia and Suzy though. You all were like best friends. so I think you'd understand them and their motivations the best.

[Once she gets all that done Recette looks at everyone present gratefully, with an mixture of sheepishness and bashfulness in her expression as well.]

So uh... thanks for coming. Now that I got that all out- sorry it was so much-, let's talk.

Fav-san never confirmed Kaine-san to be innocent. [Please don't take him right off your list of suspects before the facts are stated...]

It's going to take a while if we're looking for one book in a library of all places.

[No matter how large the library is, Zange knows that there's something here. After all, there's things to do here, but more importantly, there are several things to get rid of. Hence why Zange seems to be carrying several volumes of manga in one hand - transformed - and DVDs in the other.

Looks like she's going to walk out with them, too, so it's definitely one reason to bother her, at least.]

[And guess who's using one of the rooms on the first floor for her escapades? This girl. Of course, if you followed her from the library, you'll definitely see Zange burning up several things on a working stove... which are the books and DVDs respectively.

Since we're working together, I'd like to make an announcement: if you see a few empty spots in the manga section, that's because I found my story and decided to get rid of it. In return, I'd like to say that if you find your own story, you're free to get rid of it or tell us outright not to read it, and I'll respect those wishes.

But I'd think it best for everyone else to respect those wishes as well.

[Today's the day where Zange's back in full force with her nun gear; it's pretty much her staple. Hence why those can find her kneeling on one of the pews in prayer, eyes closed as she speaks.]

It wasn't me. I said as much the first time around and I can only repeat myself here. Everything I said in that trial was the truth.

[ Miach shrugs a little. ]

And I'm also being truthful to say that I don't care who did it either. The purpose of this retrial seems ominous to me - wasn't the idea for the culprit to be able to get away with it and get their wish granted...? Well, it appears that was a farce, like everything else in this place.

I plan on spending a lot of time there - are there any details about that book that would aid the search?

[ Crystal seems like the weirdest material ever to build a library from, but okay. We'll take that.

The statues are weird. How many are there in total? Miach might only recognize one of them, but there seems to be little doubt about what they depict at least.

And the bookshelves - what kinds of books can Miach see on first glance? ]

Morning- Outside Inn

[Recette hums in satisfaction as she updates the Bronzed Vaccumbrella with the names of the newest victims of the game. She's getting so quick at it!... that's... probably a bad thing though. Well... there goes her mood....

Recette sighs and looks over the names, counting them as she goes down and traces each with with fingers.

Morning- Steel Tower
[After the meeting of the Finding Home Club she hosted, Recette heads over to the Steel Tower as she said she would.

Oh wow it's really tall.

Like.... wow. She... she should probably leave Zack's scythe somewhere safe. Hmmmm.... uhh....

Okay yeah she doesn't want to waste time going back to her room so she'll just lean it against the tower's base and have Slinky, Crown, and Dragon guard it.]

Protect it! But uh, not with your life, 'cause Eliza'd be mad if you died and i'd be really super upset too!

[Slinky more or less gives an vague approximation of a shrug- not like she can go anywhere else-, while Crown and Dragon seem to take the task of guarding it more seriously.]

And uh... Blade you can come with me since you can fly and stuff.

[The Pidgey nods in acknowledgement of her orders.

It'll take a generous amount of trial and error to get up there, as Recette's not utilized 'the whole you can jump really high!' perk of being a magical girl in like.... gosh she can't remember.

A triumphant whoop is let out when she finally gets to the top- Blade's been there for a while already- and after a moment of rest to catch her breath, Recette starts talking.]

Hello? Um, if any ghosts can hear me, I'd really like to talk to you! I gotta lotta questions and way way waaaaaayyyy to few answers. So it'd be super cool if you could help with that and answer some!

[Recette probably looks super stupid talking to nothing in particular on the uppermost panel. It took a lot of jumping to get up here, so gosh diddly darn it she was gonna get answers!]

[Is the battle cry that Recette shouts as opens the doors to the church. Time to look around the new area. Or well, one of them at least. So what's going on here besides holy stuff?]

Morning-Evening Graveyard

[Recette isn't the best at cleaning, but it just seems plain wrong to let the graveyard go to waste like this. So with the help of Crown, Blade, Dragon, and Slinky, she begins to try and clean up the graveyard. Remove moss and lichen... dust off the tombstones... maybe she'll find something during all this too?

Either way she's going to spend most if not all of her day trying to fix this place up, not even having to leave to get food as she raided the Corner Store for food on the way there to bring with her.]

Wednesday

Morning-Evening Crystal Library

[Time to hit the books!... or something. She's like 99.9% sure Miach got this covered... but she's still gonna poke around for anything screaming 'I'm super suspicious! Investigate me!' Especially if it's not book related. Like how many floors does this place have? Oh, maybe there's a secret room somewhere like in the manga shop! Only one way to find out!]

Thursday

Morning- Item Shop

[Recette noticed that the items in the shop on the phone were the same as last weeks. Are they not restocking anymore? This concerned her, so she's going to the item shop to see if anythings amiss.
]

Afternoon-Evening River

[It just occured to Recette that where the actual heck does the River start and end if they're like, pitch blackness past a certain point!?? Curiosity wins out, so Recette spends most of her day trying to find the End and Beginning of the river with Eliza's Pokemon.]

Friday/ Wild Card Day

Morning-Evening

[Antsy at the retrial coming up, Recette can be found practically everywhere checking and rechecking all the locations and generally not staying still. After a while of observing it'd become apparrent that she wanders over to the locations of murders more often than not, and lingers longer at the River, Dollhouse, Karaoke, Dojo, Observatory, and Police Station. She misses her friends.

It might be best to make her take a break at some point.]

[ Uh wow, this place changed quite a bit from when she last was here. Miach is out of the way out of the library and to the Inn to take a bath, Dahlia's bloodstained shawl around her shoulders and Szayel's sword strapped to her back. In her hand is a halfeaten bag of chips.

When she notices Recette, she decides to take a detour on her way back and enters the graveyard. ]

Why'd you go so far for these graves?

Well, I certain have answers if you ask the right questions. [A girl's voice smoothly replies with a hint of humor in it.]

As a reminder, we are bound by a set of rules. Do you need a refresher on them before we begin?

It seems wrong to let them stay in such a bad shape. I mean, if I were dead I'd like my grave to be taken care of.

[She's too nice and caring for her own good tbh.]

...And I mean, I can explore at the same time too. Who knows, I might find something cool!

[ Miach smiles at that. Definitely a start.

Then she'll begin writing down the entire alphabet for Dahlia to make use of in spelling things. 'Yes' and 'no' as well as numbers from 0-9 are also added.

Finally she writes: "You can just tap the letters, I am definitely watching. Is there anything useful to find in the afterlife right now? Letter contact seems to have ceased."

It has been known to happen. [A pause.] The rules are as follows. We can not reveal the culprits, nor can we mention anything about the identity of the mastermind or who the hunter is.

We can within a set limit discuss the nature of the town. Vexingly restrictive I know, but those are the rules.

[ So.... more than they can say for progress over here, got it.

"I'd be delighted if the ritual was a success and we could see to M's bloody demise together.

What happens to ghosts who break rules?"

... because maybe Dahlia could send someone else to-- ]

Kay. So uh, would asking if calling themselves M is an thing all the masterminds did or is it just her?

[Just gonna test the waters there. Prooobably not that helpful a question. But she's technically just asking about the name M not who the mastermind's identity is.]

Yes, I agree Zack. That is a very inane question. [She's clearly addressing someone else for a moment. But answers finally.] It's been the same for every game.

Um... aaaanyway yeah okay right, keep it to super important questions.

Can we get the last two keys and the book now? I'm guessing the book is somewhere in the library, but I guess that'd be way too obvious.

While I can't confirm for you where the book is. Yes you can. Remember don't use the keys in the doors. As much as I'd love to cease being drained...

This town's mana is already too low. Please be cautious. Zack is here, yes. It seems only the dead of previous rounds can use this tower to speak directly.

[Which is a pity but, what can one do.]

Oh that's good. I... I he hope doesn't mind me carrying around his scythe and all. I couldn't just leave it in him. Oh uh, but I left it at the bottom of the tower with Eliza's Pokemon- well except Blade- 'cause jumping up to here with it would be like running with scissors! What if I accidentally chop my head off or something?!

[Yeah she's... rambling now.]

I mean that'd be an really bad way to die, but at least I'd see Lady Edna, Zack, Taiki, Eruna, Eliza, Chiaki, and heck even Tamamo again. But... I miss you a lot but you'd be mad if we met again that way, so we'll just have to stick to the key plan and me not doing something stupid.

[She bets that the others alive still miss their friends too so...]

Oh uh, If there's anything anyone wants me to tell Miach, Seraphina, Or Zange, can you relay it for them to me? I'll make sure to tell them.

[Gotta keep asking questions and stuff though so... uh... what next...]

Is the staircase in the Inn that leads down important to the ritual or like figuring all this stuff out? I kinda never paid much attention to it, but yeah... I don't think something unimportant would need to be that locked up.

[Well, they'll see at least two familiar names on gravestones: Hajime Hinata and Himeko Inaba. But there's also one more gravestone that's out of place... one named Hakua Suzushiro.]

[There's at least forty statues.

As for the bookshelves, the first floor seems to provide with the non-fiction. In fact, one of the books falls off the shelf. Would you like to take a look?]
