It's already been seven days, and things don't seem to change much... except for the fact that the task board has been updated. Of course, on Monday, everyone will once again be reminded of a rather hasty announcement at 9 AM in the morning. Of course, Fav won't wake up people who are too sleepy, but the words that the fairy seems to say make things fill up with a higher sense of urgency.

"Wake up, pon! There's a huge announcement that needs to be given, pon! It's very important that you come downstairs, pon."

You are correct. Nothing can hold them to their word, and the goal they've set for us is impossible even for a small number of people. We don't have that much time to begin with.

[People just need to understand the stakes.]

[Her eyes narrow. She's reminded of the bloodthirsty lords who once ruled her country, who once she believed she had a higher calling to eliminate.]

Which is also murder. [She confirmed it with Fav. Denying someone the resources necessary to leave is the same as slitting their throat. Is it a sin to stand by?]

I wonder what the point of all this is. Perhaps there's a grand prize awaiting the last person alive.

[Won't be the first time that happened. Holy Grail, any wish you can ever think of making... or even boundless riches. A way to get home is a good enough incentive for some, too.]

Really though, plucking us out from our homes like this-- there must be more in store for so much effort put into us!

What's the difference between four and twenty? [Other than number, obviously, and that's clear in her tone. If the purpose of this game is elimination, four...is an unappealing number, and unlikely the finale one.]

Even if they wanted four, four can easily become one with very little intervention. ☆

[Rather, Tamamo counts on the human emotion of severe paranoia to kick in before anything else. Cabin fever is a real thing, stuck out here in a begone corner of the universe.

Tamamo may be acting casual, but she's obviously disappointed about all this. Nothing much stronger than disappointment from her, though.]

Well, I suppose 'four' is also a good number to hold the semi-finals. [So she's thinking along the same lines.]

[He could keep arguing, but he's pretty done. It's not getting him anywhere. So instead, he's gonna shake his head and go over there to yell about this with everybody else.]

If we trusted everyone here to look out for us, the story would be much different.

[She would have laughed - what, a year ago? Six months? She remembers being told she can't take a joke anymore. What he gets instead is a wry little smile.]

I don't plan on it. [After a pause, she actually adds:] I'm the eldest sister. It's nothing new.

Early week, general;

[Surprisingly, B hasn't transformed once since the announcement, his attitude subtly more straight-faced than it had been in the first week. He can be found in front of a TV, perched in a weird squat with his knees pulled up - there's anime on which he appears to be studying, but at times it may seem more like he's watching the people around. He's not one to make speeches about this kind of situation, or to be afraid. Beyond Birthday had never known his own lifespan, and that's nothing new. But what is strange is death looming so close, and yet now of all times, he won't be able to predict it. Prior to this, such a thing could only happen in fiction like this anime. Being normal is truly a hassle... he might be sulking a bit.]

Wednesday, day;

[Apartment B-13 had caught his eye earlier as a perfect alternative to his frustrating number 14 suite he was originally assigned. Now that he's had his fill of anime, he's starting his preparations for moving. You can find him in the room all day, dusting and mopping the walls and floors, because of course it's got to be clean before he moves in. Once he's satisfied with that, he'll start dragging furniture over from his room. Unfortunately B-13's was one of the ones where the bed had been cut in half. It's honestly a really shit apartment without even working amenities.... but letter fixations are powerful things, so he's going to persevere. Help him?]

Thursday, dusk;

[Now that he's exhausted all of those ways of keeping busy... B's walking around the apartments in general as the sun's going down - he pauses to watch from a second floor window, cracking his neck as he does. These places look a lot spookier after night falls. Maybe something will happen... a lot of the tasks did center on the apartments this week.]

[Eliza leans on the back of whatever seat he's using.] Is this that Madoka thing Fav was talking about?

... If Fav's master wishes for the killers to be caught, it's only natural to bring in a detective.

[He'll look over his shoulder at her and nod.]

Mmm, it is. Though I have my doubts how charming I would find something Fav recommended... I've just started it.

Or we remain this number...and, I fear, face a destruction of a different kind.

We are from different places and therefore have little loyalty to each other. It's easy to believe the story could end that way.

[Disappointment, more than fear or denial, is an odd reaction. Hypocritically (considering her own efforts to resist any emotional response), One finds herself bristling a little.]

I see. [... How quickly she made that choice, One thinks, and there's a little bit of surprise in her voice. But then, she'd been so vocally set on finding something she wanted to protect.

She looks to the area of the lobby where Fav introduced the number chart.]

If we share our candy equally, something better or worse may happen. But for now...for now, someone like you might attract unwanted attention.
