It's already been seven days, and things don't seem to change much... except for the fact that the task board has been updated. Of course, on Monday, everyone will once again be reminded of a rather hasty announcement at 9 AM in the morning. Of course, Fav won't wake up people who are too sleepy, but the words that the fairy seems to say make things fill up with a higher sense of urgency.

"Wake up, pon! There's a huge announcement that needs to be given, pon! It's very important that you come downstairs, pon."

[ Same as last week: everybody can meet up with Fav in the front desk yet again, looking rather complacent as ever. Of course, this announcement is definitely different from the previous one, a certain kind of seriousness to his tone. ]

It's been a week, so we're going to reveal a few things today, pon! Today, you'll be getting the candy rankings, pon. But since people already asked, I might as well tell you a few things on how to get candy a lot faster, pon.

The first thing everyone needs to know is that in order to leave, you must reach at least 100,000 candy, pon. If you can reach that number, you can leave, pon. Now, there's a feature on your phones called transfer, pon. It allows you to transfer magical candies from one person to another, pon.

Also, because so much mana is being used from your transformations, we will need to cut down the amount of magical girls and boys to four, pon. Which means, however is at the bottom of the rankings by the end of the week will no longer be a magical girl or boy, pon. Of course the other way to stop that from happening is to commit a murder, pon. You'll get candies for killing somebody, pon. And extra if you get away with murder, pon.

Anyway. . . onto the candy rankings, pon!

If there wasn't enough mana for all of us, why the hell did you bring in so many people?! That sounds fucking stupid!

[He should be happy he placed third in the rankings this week, but he's more concerned about the sudden introduction of murder. Something he wouldn't mind doing for better reasons than a stupid ranking system.]

Wh-wh-why? Why does it have to be murder? Isn't there any way to get more mana without having to kill people?

What if we elect not to transform? Shouldn't that ease the stress needed and therefore not force us to murder one another?

[He doesn't figure that will get him the answer he wants, but he can't say he didn't try at least.]

Mana comes from the planet, pon. So it's impossible to get more mana, pon.

What if none of us transform? Then no mana should be used at all.

B-b-but you said we were here to fix the town! If we fix it, won't that bring back more mana? [It always works like that in stories! Magic comes back and the world is healed, with either one being the cause of the other.]

The damage has already been done, pon.

[ His words are darker than usual, and it's obvious what his intent is. ]

[His eyes narrow at Fav.]

Did you know this, bringing us here and transforming, would cause this 'damage'?

That's not how it works, pon.

Perhaps, pon. But my master was the one who brought you all in the end, pon. I'm simply just a messenger, pon.

First you call us here and now you want to kill us all off.

[Edna looks just as pleased as anyone else, even if she's not raising her voice or letting herself get carried away.]

What gracious captors we have. Bravo. [She claps-- with every bit of sarcasm she has.] That sure makes me want to give my all helping your dumb town.

Your... master?

[He purses his lips.]

Who is your master?

I said it in the beginning, my master doesn't want to reveal themselves, pon. There's no point in asking me, pon. I won't tell you, pon!

Then don't, pon. It's your choice, pon.

[ If Fav could shrug, he would probably be shrugging right now. ]

Oh...it's not? [Eliza continues to stare.] So...if someone goes home, they don't count as part of the four magical people who can stay, right?

[She thought she'd check the item shop for fun but when she sees one of her arrested there, she stops in her tracks.]

...so that's what those people did with my powers. [She sighs.]

Guess I'll have to get those back too. I won't be able to help anyone if I go back without my powers.

Tuesday.

[The late evening has Edna contemplating what she can do to get her powers back. But then-- the Haunted House business has just the right amount of reward.] wouldn't be the first.

[She's going to sign up-- anyone is free to join her. She doesn't look that thrilled about the idea of going alone. She does seem to be mumbling to herself about something--]

If that Normin shows up here...

Doesn't that go against your whole grand scheme? I thought fixing this place up was the whole reason we were dragged here in the first place.

[If they don't care about the town... then what was their goal?]

...Unless killing people is more your style and the town was just a cover up.

If someone manages to go home before we cut down to four, then they won't count, pon.

[She's still maintaining her usual neutral, almost smug expression, but she's sweating a little, and she may be gritting her back teeth together.]

It's hard to believe you'd be having this problem if some of us hasn't been stripped of their own powers upon arrival.
