Throughout the week, you are given various tasks to fulfill, in order to get candy and go back home. But it's going to be a rough ride, considering that you need 100,000 candy to get back there. But don't worry, with the new candy count increase, things should be a lot easier, right? What could possibly go wrong?

[Ah... true. But, that would require Tamamo to give into the idea that she was being dumb, which she rejects immediately.]

I suppose that could be worth a shot. Though, there doesn't seem to be anything here but walls and walls. [Then again, she hasn't looked at all... she starts poking around at the building, looking for any tile that looks out of place.

Because you need to press on secret dungeon tiles to open the magical staircase, right??]

Ohoh! [Her fox tail suddenly straightens up immediately.] This dust! A-achoo!

[That's a hint, though. If there was a staircase randomly popping up, there shouldn't be dust. Should they look for a conspicuously clean spot?]

That is the general idea of hallways within buildings, yes.

[He doesn't know what else Tamamo wants him to do with such a statement.

But hey, you never know with tile mechanisms! Always a classic! Either way, Szayel joins Tamamo in her inspection, also making note of the dust.]

The general lack of activity in these old apartment buildings is actually to our benefit. Shifting structures would be more difficult to detect in a building with more traffic. [It's the reason his maze building back home is so successful! Er...] We should look for a section of a wall or corridor that looks more like it has been used recently.

[And the moment that Szayel says that is also the moment where a slight sound can be heard coming from the end of the hallway.

[Szayel glances up the moment he takes notice of the sound. Looking in the direction of the sound, he calls out to Tamamo.]

Did you hear that?

[SOUND?!

Tamamo's fox ears perk up. Though she has lost her more-than-human hearing, she heard it too.] I definitely did! Do you think that could be it?

[She doesn't see anyone else around. In any case, there's only one thing to do now-- head right towards the sound! If Szayel doesn't want to lead, she will, though she'd much rather stay behind in case it's something potentially dangerous.]

[It's probably less dangerous than you think.

The stairs they manage to find curve upwards and seem to go up a long way. There's definitely a lot of them, to be sure. Do you dare attempt the trek upwards?]

It could be, or we have more company.

[Said company could easily be another of their group looking for the staircase, but Szayel still approaches with a degree of caution.

Oh.]

Well then. That certainly didn't take very long. [He examines the staircase, bafflement appearing in his expression.] A staircase like this shouldn't even work with this building's rigid structure. And yet, here we are.

[...he glances toward Tamamo.]

Shall we investigate?

This is rather...

[ALRIGHT... sure. She's here for the candies. Gotta remember that.] Right, the sun is now... partly across the sky. [She takes down some shitty estimate of the current time before slowly approaching the staircase. She grabs the handle firmly before walking up.

Anything weird here?]

[There's nothing strange about the staircase itself -- rather, the further they go up the actual staircase, the more they seem further away from the top.]

[Bloody hell, you know, stranger things have happened, but Tamamo doesn't want to accidentally end up in a goddamn pocket dimension SCP style.]

I don't think this thing ends. [Pause.] Er, let's get down first!

[Shes not scared what are u talking about]

[Szayel isn't far behind Tamamo as they begin venturing up the stairs. And the further they go up, the more he...smirks a bit? Apparently he finds this pretty amusing.]

Ah, so it's like that.

[If they're altering the stairs to create something of a loop, they must be hiding something valuable beyond the barrier or they're just sending them on a wild goose chase. He's done both before.

When he's done considering the implications of a neverending staircase, he nods in agreement with Tamamo.]

You are likely correct. We may as well return, as I don't see us getting beyond these stairs at this point in time.

[They'll have to figure out how this one is run first.

Either way, he'll descend with Tamamo until they're back to the safety of the non-magical hallway.]
