☆ WEEK ONE ( INVESTIGATION )

Magical Girl Raising Project
Friday, Week 1

20 REMAIN...?

It's been a rather rough couple of days. Of course it has, given the fact that Fav made the announcement that he'd be cutting the number down to four, and the fact that killing someone would actually make people get candy a lot faster than normal. But nobody is irrational enough to take Fav up on his rather generous offer, right? After all, it's murder!

Nevertheless, the town seems rather quiet as always and it doesn't seem that anything horrible is going to happen at all in the slightest bit. It's just your normal, ordinary Friday, so feel free to go about it as you wish, whether you sleep in or otherwise.

> Investigate?

You already knew, didn't you?

[Can't help asking, even if she already knows that he already knew that...etc.] I'd appreciate it.

[She gives Fav a single nod in lieu of thanking him (because she'll go to pretty much any length not to thank him).

One goes to open Dia's door with the same caution he exercised looking for the haunted room in the apartment complex. She tests the knob first, then pushes just enough to see if there's any weight blocking the door.

[Dahlia passes Dia's now apparently opened door, and raises an eyebrow. She had no idea Fav could actually do such a thing and be cooperative, but then again... it's for the sake of the 'game.' Nothing to be surprised by, huh.]

Would you mind if I joined you?

[She pauses mid-doorknob turn just long enough to make eye contact with Dahlia.]

If you'd like. I doubt there's anything dangerous left behind, but we should go together anyway.

[A nod.]

Safety in numbers, of course.

[Unless you're Dia, apparently. She'll stand at the other side of the doorframe and waits for it to be opened.]

[With the coast apparently clear, Dahlia first observes the room scanning it for anything that may just be out of place, broken, or anything suggestive of a scene of a struggle. Anything out of the ordinary?roo

[Yep, starting with the obvious. One lets the door swing open as wide as it will go, then observes. She takes the same approach as Dahlia, surveying from the entrance.]

[ hello, friends, from beyond the grave--dia's room is neat and tidy, as one would expect of a student council president. there might be some leftover snacks on the living room table from the meeting, but that's...the most unusual thing you're going to find in here. nothing is out of place. ]

[Aww, come on, ghost of Dias past. All of that apprehension, and for this?

Has the bed even been slept in?
]

If she was here before...it seems like nothing was disturbed. [She looks to Dahlia again. This could be a waste of time.]

[Dahlia frowns slightly.]

I'm afraid I don't know much about Miss Dia's acquaintances, but it seems to me that she left the room voluntarily. Either she was ambushed while she was walking around by herself... or she was invited to a specific location by someone she knew.

It would seem that way. I'm surprised she wouldn't have cleaned up those snacks. [And a little disgusted. What happened to being so fastidious?

One steps back. She leaves the door open, but leans her back against the wall in the hallway. It's a pose not unsimilar to the one Dia herself struck at the beginning of their Wednesday meeting.
]

The amount of candy she held was no more than many of ours. I can't assume greed was a motivator.

Mm. Then again, we also don't know for sure that it wasn't M who was responsible.

Dia did attract her attention with that meeting. Initiating her "game" would be the same as shouting "fire" in a crowded cathedral.

[She's hesitant to leave this room without its occupant, but they should probably turn somewhere else.]

[personal profile] hawthorned 2017-03-25 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Dahlia will give the room one last glance. Just because things seem to be in order, doesn't necessarily mean that they are. All the same... she doesn't exactly know what all Dia had with her, so it'd be hard to know if anything of hers is missing at all, even if the room itself seems alright.]

Were you close to Miss Dia? And if you were, would you be able to verify that none of her possessions are missing from the room? Between what we observe here and what was found at the scene of the crime, we should be able to tell if anything that belongs to her has gone missing.
selfloving: (VIII.)

[personal profile] selfloving 2017-03-25 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
No. I just came for the meeting. They were eating that food when we were here on Wednesday... [It's still weird to think that Dia wouldn't have cleaned it, unless she left the room well before her death.

... It's a suspicion worth filing away for now.
]

It looks the same, down to every detail.

[personal profile] hawthorned 2017-03-25 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
[So much for that then.]

I think I'd like to take some pictures of the room before leaving it then. Her killer might come back for something once the fuss has died down, and this way if anything is disturbed, we'll have photographic evidence of any changes.

[She pulls out the magical phone and takes a few photographs.]

Good idea. [RIP people from worlds with no cameras.]

In that case, let's examine her effects more closely before we go. Even if we do know what should be there, it may be useful later. This seems invasive, but the dead have no privacy.

[Presuming there really is nothing out of the ordinary in Dia's (however minimal) details, they can probably do this in a rather glossy fashion - but at least there will be a record.]
