☆ WEEK ONE ( INVESTIGATION )
Magical Girl Raising Project
Friday, Week 1

20 REMAIN...?
It's been a rather rough couple of days. Of course it has, given the fact that Fav made the announcement that he'd be cutting the number down to four, and the fact that killing someone would actually make people get candy a lot faster than normal. But nobody is irrational enough to take Fav up on his rather generous offer, right? After all, it's murder!
Nevertheless, the town seems rather quiet as always and it doesn't seem that anything horrible is going to happen at all in the slightest bit. It's just your normal, ordinary Friday, so feel free to go about it as you wish, whether you sleep in or otherwise.
> Investigate?

[Does he see anything on the way to the other apartment building?]

[When he gets there, he just wanders over to the bed and just flops onto it face down. He doesn't bother to un-transform, so after a few minutes of just laying there, he shifts his body so he's sort of propped up by his bust (He kind of takes back what he thought of them last week. There are some uses for 'em.). He scrolls through the network to send a message.]
[Anyone is free to walk in on him. Including skeletons.]

Finding the bed occupied is not that much of a surprise after how much she and Zack have been hanging out lately. She'll just sit down on the corner of the bed, only starting to speak as she's seated. ]
It's like watching a mediocre detective novel come alive.

[Zack scoots out of the way so Mia has room to sit.]
I thought it was more like the aftermath of a horror movie...
[Wait.]
... What if detective stories are really horror stories told from an outsider's perspective?

You know, that is actually a good thought. When in fear for their life, humans can't help but completely overrate the danger they are in. The extent of the horror that the victim feels if only their agony drags out long enough should easily make for the horror genre as long as it's packaged well enough in narration.
"Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less."
That's something Marie Curie has said, and it's where the detective comes in. With no imminent danger to them, the mystery is just a mystery. They - and the reader or viewer with them - have a privilege of detachment.
What may have seemed supernaturally horrifying to the victim may have a mundane explanation to the investigator - of course, that is counting out detective stories with actual supernatural spins.
