18 REMAIN...?

This week has been absurdly strange. From Fav bringing his "friend" over to force people to have their wishes granted via murder to the fact that the arcade makes a lot of people uncomfortable. I mean, who wouldn't be, when it spells out a lot of people's life stories in it? It honestly is surreal. Nevertheless, things seem to be quiet at first... at least, until people decide to exit their rooms in the Inn (sorry, Miach and One) and take a whiff of that Breath of the Wild that you might have been stuck playing on last night--

Except for the immediate fact that the first thing people in the inn will smell is the faint, coppery smell of blood in the morning. In fact, there's a whole trail of it that leads to various places depending on which floor you're staying at the inn. And there might be some blood outside, too...

[Besides the obvious blood, is there anything off about her clothes or her nails? Anything that might indicate a struggle?]

[ Her clothes are awfully wet considering that she was pushed into a river, but there seems to be some bruising on her right shoulder area. ]

[That's as to be expected. Bruising though...]

Looks like she took a beating to her shoulder. But the only weapon here is the naginata that matches the wound on her throat.

[ 15 minutes late to the investigation, though without Starbucks, what's up, there's a corpse.

Since Zack seems to have decided Miach is part of the closest thing to forensics that they have around here, she might as well make her way over straight to Seraphina and the body. ]

Are those the only bruises? I expect if there was any kind of fight there might be more hidden under her clothes.

[It's fine by her. Might want to warn the guys to get out because she's just going for it--]

Wait. Did we get a picture of the body yet?

[ That was a concern in the last trial, so might as well quickly get it done before we figure out what else is off about the corpse. ]

[ Time to get out that phone and take a nice picture from a little distance first and then a close-up of the injury. ]

[Szayel isn't far behind Miach, having also been summoned to the scene.

After deactivating his magical form, he makes an initial glance at the body and...yikes.]

May I also ask what else you have discovered thus far? There are a few things I am looking for in particular.

I used my magical form to get here as quickly as possible. I don't know what more you want from me.

She was in the river with that naginata.

[Seraphina points to Recette, who now has the weapon.]

There's a nasty slash to her neck that probably killed her and some bruises on her shoulder. I also saw a partial footprint, but nothing that we can really use. And they were headed towards the water, so they're probably clean by now.

Also I found Eliza's magical phone at the middle school.

Did you do any other investigating there?

[Szayel nods along with Seraphina's description, snapping a few photos of his own of the body before he looks any closer.]

A satisfactory initial investigation. Would you like me to make a closer inspection?

[Zack didn't say anything about other people hanging around the body.]

Duh. She's absolutely going to sit back and watch. Well she'll help if it's necessary, but this is far more to her liking.]

[ Well, Szayel is the actual scientist, so Miach will also stand back for him to give the body the first closer look. She's just going to be peeking over his shoulder and possibly offer commentary. ]

[Szayel takes notice of Miach and turns to face her before crouching down by the body.]

Since you expressed interest, I'll start with your suggestion of looking for more bruises.

[He examines Eliza's arms and legs first before gingerly examining underneath her clothes. Are any other bruises or cuts present? As he does that, he takes note of the clothes themselves. Are they just her regular clothes?]

[ She's in her regular clothes, and there's nothing else to note here outside of what's already given. ]

[Hmm.]

If she did attempt to fight, it must have been a short one. The injuries seem to be localized in the areas that Seraphina pointed out.

[This is a pretty tricky case in general, since everything's so wet. Is it possible to tell how long Eliza was in the water, actually? What's her skin looking like right now?]

[ She's been in there for quite some time actually, at least a few hours, as you can tell by her skin that's drying up a bit. ]
