Monday-Sunday, Week 4

Today is quiet. Surprisingly so. There's no wake up call for the longest time, and everything seems to be almost scarily quiet. At least, until 12 PM, where the familiar voice of a female whom everyone will recognize as M chimes in.

"Hello, everybody. No need to come to the lobby or anything today for the announcement; this week will be a no murder week. The first reason is due to the Easter holiday. The second reason being because there's something wrong with Fav and this town. Meaning, I'll need you all to help me. You don't want to die because the town fell out of the sky, would you? Anyway, the task is pretty simple: find various colored eggs throughout the town. Easy. Certain eggs give you notes, some give you candy, but what I'm looking for is a body. There are eggs with body parts scattered all over. The eggs are small, but they can contain items that are bigger than itself. If you collect the body parts and reassemble them, this town will be safe. For the time being. If you do succeed, the lobby will become a ballroom on Easter Sunday, and I will provide proper clothes, music, and food for you all. Oh, and I fixed Zack's mess, in the dollhouse. That is all. And don't bother trying to answer back. I won't respond."

Of course, after her words are said and done, everyone who is alive will notice the slight static in some of the buildings, almost unstable. Sometimes you'll even find your hand going through things, occasionally. Even more so if you're in your magical form. Also, to note: apparently the network is down, even though transforming works just fine.

[Whoops, that was Dragon popping up under Zack's feet again. He heard you had a team mate in your hands, Recette.]

Oh um... I have your friend because I'm... well... super weak to be honest. Learning to use a weapon isn't gonna happen fast enough, and buying someone's powers off the item shop seems super rude. So... if it's okay with your friend, I'd really appreciate their help.

[And then, her serious mood is shattered.]

[Recette does her best to hold back a giggle at the reaction Dragon caused in Zack.]

While we're on the topic of things moving on their own, I suppose it's worth noting the marshmallow incident from last night as well.

[Szayel's tone is just saturated in bitterness, good lord. He definitely doesn't want to bring this up, but it's more useful to in the long run.]

I'm sure they did! I mean, I didn't send any notes to dead people's rooms, but I am almost certain that they're here with us somehow!

Oh... do you not have spirit mediums in your world, Zack?

[This is quite possibly the last combination of words she thought she'd hear from Szayel, and because she wasn't there at the afterparty and this potentially sounds hilarious, she's going to ask.]

The what incident, Mr. Granz?

Spirit mediums?

[They might exist, but Zack's never seen one in his life.]

Uh, news flash. People don't go to meetings like this if they don't know about them.

Ah, they're people who use their spiritual powers to call upon the souls of the dead.

[A beat.]

....Supposedly, anyway. Not everyone believes they're really capable of doing that and call them frauds. The point is... I guess it's a matter of what you believe happens to us after we die.

[zackthekiller]

[Zack just smirks for a second.]

[He can't make marshmallows float, but seeing them pelt Suzy like that was just too funny.]

Why'd you bring that up? Was talking to dead people your hobby or something?

AFTER ALL THOSE ANSWERS... .. In retrospect I really did not think the initial tag through, orz

[Well after the chorus of "No's," Dahlia frowns and explains.]

Ah, you see, I found a key in the police station that opened up one of the rooms in the inn. The room was an elaborate puzzle that turned into a game of Hangman.... for some reason. [Don't ask her, she's still wtf-ing at the memory.]

In any case, solving that led me to this notebook. [She unwraps the newspaper, to show it to the people at the meeting.]

Judging from the contents, it appears that Hinata Hajime was a magical boy who was here on a previous run of the game... perhaps the same one as Miss Snow? [A beat.] But he described finding a way to end the game, but never documented what said method was.. and judging from the state of the notebook, may have perished soon after.

You heard me perfectly clear, Dahlia.

[He knows it sounds absolutely ridiculous, but it was legitimately A Thing.]

After the trial, I made an attempt to confront that idiot [a sharp glare is directed at Zack here] and was promptly assaulted with marshmallows. Not by anyone here, mind. They moved on their own and seemingly with a mission to deter me from going about my business.

[He draws his sword, more for the sake of the conversation but also because he never really did get to finish what he was doing...]

The more peculiar part of the entire fiasco was that whatever force was behind the marshmallow actually attempted to stop my blade with it.

[Zack's not gonna ask about the puzzle.]

Oh... Uh... Does the notebook give you any other details, like what happened as time went on, or how many people's names Recette has to carve on the umbrella-vacuum thing?

[Sorry, Recette.]

[Hey Zack.

There are no marshmallows here now, so.

The sword is back out.]

Wipe that smirk off your face. Immediately.

[He doesn't plan to do something rash here either, as evidenced by his lack of transforming into his magical form to go along with drawing his blade. But he's definitely not finished with Zack.]

[Well congrats, Zack. The idea that she'd waste her time trying to talk to dead people is so absurd that it actually gets Dahlia to start giggling.]

Of course not, silly! But you asked me why I wouldn't be surprised, so I answered.

... Pfff.

[He rolls his eyes.]

That's kind of disappointing. I was thinking we'd have some kind of ghost whisperer power floating around in the gacha. Probably would make this ghost issue we have here a lot easier.

[And while we're at it, why don't we interrogate the victim's ghost next week and avoid all the arguing?]

[The only reason Dahlia 100% believes this incident really happened is because she doesn't think Szayel would make up a stupid lie just to make himself look the fool. But that said, any inclination, voluntary or involuntary she had of laughing more or less dies when he draws the sword. Not because she thinks he's threatening her, but because it's a freaking sword.]

Curious. The place usually does as much as it can to incite violence. Though I suppose it could be an anomaly, I wouldn't recommend a repeat performance.

That would be convenient, wouldn't it....

[Ah yes, if her spirit medium prodigy half sister were here, that could've been a reality. The idea mostly pleases Dahlia because Pearl's disappearance would likely upset their mother.]

But I doubt Miss M would permit such a thing. If we could simply ask the deceased who killed them, it would probably dissuade people from killing as that would decrease the odds of getting away with the crime.

[Some people can't be as lucky as you, Zack.]

[Ah right. Zack can't read the notebook for himself, even if she handed it to him.]

It's not too specific. unfortunately, I'll read it out loud for everyone. The first entry goes:

There has to be another way. I have to find it! No. I will! I can't believe that the only way to end it all is despair. I don't know what to believe. Was I really...? No. I can't think about that. Not right now.

The next entry goes:

The more I talk to-

[Frowning:] I can't make out his handwriting here.

-the more I have questions. How did this all get started? If I'm to stop it...there has to be more than one way.

Parts of the entry are covered in blood, so I can't read them, but the rest of this entry says:

I stopped a fight today but I don't think I can stop them all. I'm running out of time.

And finally the last entry goes:

...it wasn't a lie. None of it was lies. I really was... I can deal with that later. This is more important. I think I've been found out. No one will look me in the eye anymore. That's fine, I can't either. I have to keep going. I almost found another way to shut down the game. One that...can save what's left. If I can do this. At least this will all end.

[She pauses after reading.]

I'm not quite sure what to make of it.

[Don't laugh at his suffering, Dahlia...!]

That is why I find the entire thing rather confusing. I have to wonder if it was legitimately Fav or M behind it or something...else.

[zackthekiller]

Mrgh...

[He rubs his leg and looks up...]

[Oh. It's the pokemon...]

... She's a good girl. I trust her with your friend.

[Crown looks a bit unsure, but Dragon seems to be okay with this. The latter scoots closer to Recette and looks at her expectantly.]

[Release Slinky?]

Tuesday

[Zack's back at the dollhouse again. He's not here to kill anyone, and though he might pick up anything that looks like an egg, he's not explicitly looking for those, either.]

[He's looking for Ray's doll, under the impression it might show up after what happened last week. He's not sure he will find Ray's doll, but he could make do with any doll that looked like a young girl about her age. Maybe someone with dark hair and a kind face...]

[Eliza would appreciate a vessel that resembles her.]

Wendsday

[Back to the North Apartments, then. Besides saying hi to Miach, he's considering moving out here. After all, there are people who probably want him dead by now- mainly Syzael- and he could use one of these rooms as a hideout of sorts.]

[Or he could loot unoccupied rooms. Like a scavenger.]

Friday

[Did anyone look around the kareoke bar yet? He's searching the place for any glowing keys or easter eggs hidden about. What could be hiding in here...?]
