☆ WEEK ZERO
Magical Girl Raising Project
Monday-Sunday, Week 0

20 REMAIN
Welcome to the Magical World of Dreams and Magic! No matter where you are or if you're from a world with technology or otherwise, you've managed to find yourself holding a cell phone with the Magical Girl Raising Project preinstalled - a game with a rather deceiving title - with no way to actually uninstall it. Whether you're doing this voluntarily or tapped the screen by accident due to not knowing much about technology, eventually a magical fairy appears out of the blue from your phone and finally opts to speak.
- "My name is Fav, and you have been chosen, pon!" For what, exactly? He soon explains that you, too, can become a real magical girl or magical boy and obtain power and help others. "If you really want to become one, just press the button here, pon. It's that simple, pon."
There's just something about Fav's voice that's so compelling, and you're promised many good things to come if you just tap that screen... but if you wait too long, you'll find your body moving on its own to do the action, as if possessed.
Once that's all said and done, you will find yourself blacking out and the next time you open your eyes... there's a very unfamiliar ceiling in a very unfamiliar bed. The place you've woken up in is a rather lavish hotel room; modern, yet has a somewhat old-fashioned feeling to it. It's rather nice, at least in comparison to the view outside.
Welcome to Town A, your almost stereotypical dystopian city in your almost stereotypical world. If not for the fact that you can't really leave, due to the barriers that encase the edges of the town.
As of right now, the clocks read 9 AM in the morning - it's time to rise and shine, sleepyheads! And as if that wasn't enough, the voice of Fav will remind you of such to meet up in the downstairs area for a very special announcement, although he won't force people to meet with him, as it's definitely not an obligation. You could always avoid the announcement. But do you honestly think that's a good idea, given that you're in a whole different world?
- This is the mingle for week zero, which covers Monday (3/13) to Sunday (3/19). Since this is the first week, there will be no investigation or trial.

As you should. It helps to get a better idea of your surroundings. Especially in a place with a dubious situation attached to it.
no subject
[ So then... why? ]
no subject
[He is far above saving a cat from a tree.]
I can't imagine that tasks as small and inconsequential as these are going to completely revitalize this city.
no subject
no subject
[He hasn't taken up any tasks, but he hasn't exactly seen anyone around waiting for takers on their requests either.]
The entire thing is quite suspicious.
no subject
There are more things about it that are off than can be considered normal in any reality I've heard of yet. I'm sure to our little captor they all make sense though. I don't believe his goal is as he claims - it tastes like pretty-talking.
no subject
Still... He likes where this conversation is going.]
Oh, most certainly. I'm sure you overheard me speaking to him in the hotel lobby earlier? He definitely has something else going on beneath his irritating, cutesy appearance.
no subject
--oh, but this reminds reminds me. Fav certainly has a lot of information about our lives, abilities, even personalities.... It didn't initially strike me as strange because the society I come from requires you to make every bit of your personal information public. But the worlds others are from aren't like that. I'm from the future to a majority of people I've spoken to.
So then... I'd really like to know what other means Fav might be using to attain all this sensitive information about people from an age in which privacy still exists.

While I can't say my world is like yours either, with the right mind and the right technology, it is entirely possible to create various methods of surveillance to suit Fav's needs for this exercise. When the technology is sophisticated enough, one can gather an incredible amount of data without the subject knowing a thing.
[He sounds both thoughtful about it and a little miffed. He doesn't like having this sort of stuff used on him. It makes him feel at a disadvantage.]
no subject
Yes, sufficient amounts of technology can send millions of spies within your own body. Everything about an adult human can be turned into data, everything about our biological system can be monitored. You can't see it, you can't feel it, but it's there and it's reporting everything you do to yourself in real time...
In my world, the subject doesn't need to be unaware. They do it to themselves, willingly, in masses.
I wouldn't know when Fav would have installed such a thing into most of us... unless he can access the brain directly and even detract something as private as memories.
no subject
That's pretty interesting.]
It's entirely possible that he did it the moment those phones "magically" fell into our grasp, or the process was integrated into our transfer to this world.
[He pauses once more, contemplating if it's beneficial to admit what he's considering. Well, he already made a big enough implication at the announcement, so he'll go ahead.]
And it is also not out of the realm of possibility for him to access such information, if he is also able to nullify pre-existing innate abilities and modify our bodies to have new physical transformations.
no subject
I thought the same. The moment we touched that phone, we turned ourselves into data for him and his master to do with as they please. I like these abilities, but I do not trust this body.
I'd like to spit it out at Fav's feet, everything implanted into me without consent. I have very little interest in playing along with his game.
[ It's sickening actually. The very thing she had died to get away from... Cruel irony, huh? ]
no subject
Hmm. He'll go with this first...]
That is an interesting theory. You say all of this was done without your consent? Then why did you press the button?
[There's no malice there, just curiosity. Was there a protocol for those who did not wish to accept?]
no subject
[ She doesn't sound in the slightest bit upset about this as she retells it, it's really just dispensing info to her. ]
I never felt any real desire to become a magical girl, certainly.
no subject
In turn, he treats it similarly- it's just information to fuel the discussion.]
I would be willing to accept that possibility, at least in your case. Your movements would certainly be erratic under that sort of situation.
[He has to wonder why Miach was sought out for the exercise under those circumstances. Dying, and unwilling to participate.]
Honestly, I did not accept out of desire to become a "magical boy", either. It simply gave me a needed opportunity to be away from my home world.
[Vague, but probably intentionally so.]
no subject
[ She pauses for thought here. ]
Fav must have known this as he selected you, as much as he must have known I killed myself in order to rid myself of my own world.... but that doesn't make much sense, does it? Why take people who wanted to leave their lives only to try and motivate them with the chance of a return to it?
Though I suppose not all the people here are like us - I haven't asked them.
no subject
[Clearly, that makes their motivations on the same level, or something.]
I would prefer to gather more data before making any sort of hypotheses about Fav and his master's intentions, however. While our cases may be somewhat similar, a sample size of two is rather useless.
[Their selection could have been random, for all they know.]
no subject
[ But that doesn't stop her from enjoying the musing. It feels bad to not be a step ahead, so at least throwing out ideas is a way to feel better. ]
Are you planning to actually look into this then?
no subject
The chatroom is the easiest way to get in contact with the others, but is very obviously maintained by Fav and its master. I would prefer this to remain as private as possible.
[He doubts it would harm them that much to compare notes in front of the person who brought them here, but they may as well keep control when they can.]
