It's only been two weeks and you've already lost two of your comrades: Dia Kurosawa and Beyond Birthday. But you have to move forward, otherwise there's no possible way that you'll even get the slightest chance to go back home, or even stop this horrific game. Nevertheless, the same voice from Fav chimes in at 9 AM in the morning, just as always.

"Wake up, pon! There will be another important announcement in the lobby, so it's important that you show up, pon."

So you hurt yourself when you swallow your sword now or does it work but just not transform you?

[ Evidently he's not dead or severely injured, but he might have just stopped early enough.... and how power nerfing works here is an interesting topic. ]

Please. As if I would manage to injure myself while performing this technique. [After a pause to land a special attack on the CPU enemy,] I wouldn't say it "works", exactly. I can insert and remove it, but nothing happens in general. It is as though it is a normal sword.

[His tone shifts a bit at that last sentence. It's something he has considered...and he had better be wrong about it. If M so much as tried to replicate his precious Zanpakutou...]

I didn't doubt you perform it perfectly in your world, but with our bodies already altered the question still had some merit.

Did the sword lose any other abilities or just this?

Oh, it looks about as dangerous in my world as it likely does here. I am simply good at what I do.

It is mainly used for the transformation as well as actual swordplay, so no.

I see... Was the point of taking abilities away just to make us anxious and motivated to get them back, I wonder....?

Not that it specifically applies to myself, you can't lose anything you never had.

It is. My world is fairly advanced in bio-technology, but it's only used on animals - fusing birds with airplanes and the likes.

For humans, they're not enhanced at all, ability-wise.

[ She pushes down her uniform collar a little to reveal her med port. ]

The most 'abnormal' thing about me by standards of this time would be this - it's used to inject medical molecules directly into the body.

At this point he breaks away from the game for the time being to take a look at Miach's little port.]

Do you know why exactly your society is so fixated on the health of the overall populace?

[What he doesn't say is that he feels it's a waste of time, specifically since it's being used to preserve the human populace.]

Around half a century ago, there was a worldwide war that annihilated a great part of the human populace and set forth a storm of mutations and illnesses. The old people who built the current world all lived through that, so the current society is focused only on survival and lack of conflict.

They're overcompensating, essentially.
