Throughout the week, you are given various tasks to fulfill, in order to get candy and go back home. But it's going to be a rough ride, considering that you need 100,000 candy to get back there. But don't worry, with the new candy count increase, things should be a lot easier, right? What could possibly go wrong?

[The scrap appears to be a newspaper clipping. Probably from the school paper.]

Continuing our series on the mysterious wonders, rumor has it that the answers to life itself are inside a desk in the chem labs.

Though it sounds farfetched, we investigated, and...

[The note's torn here, sorry guys, you'll have to investigate for yourself.]

[ Miach is going to read this out loud for Dahlia to hear as well and then afterwards hand it to Dahlia just in case she doesn't believe her on what it said. ]

What a convenient clue for that task. Or at least you'd assume that 'the answers to life itself' counts as a school mystery.

If we're already both here, mind helping me out searching through these desks? I'll take the left side.

[She'll accept the paper from Miach and, yes, reads it herself with a frown.]

A secret that can be hidden away inside the desk of a middle school isn't worth calling a secret.

[She's just saying. But she does move to the desks on the right and begins looking inside them.]

I expect we'll find some platitude.... a fortune cookie fortune, perhaps. [A beat.] I'm sure inspirational clichés appeal to young people.

[It's not quite a fortune cookie, but on Dahlia's side, she'll find the answer key for a test on organic chemistry.

Get it? The answers to life itself. It's funny right?

Okay, probably not, but under the key's another scrap of paper.]

...a mystery step appears. We've proven this one wrong, but they say that the next wonder is on the third floor. Legend says the locker at the end of the hall is haunted, and strange noises can be heard from within.

I've found something.

[...which she reads in silence first because who cares about keeping Miach in suspense. Also she has never linefaced harder at a nerd joke in her life, okay. She reads what's on the scrap a moment later.]


Haunted lockers.. how quaint. Shall we go then, Miss Miach.

[ Miach is just going to come over, lean in, and read over Dahlia's shoulder. She doesn't seem to care about personal space if there's something she wants info-wise. ]

After this particular mystery, we may just find a rat nest.

[ But that is as good as a 'yes' in terms of going to find it. It nets candy and all.... ]

[The invasion into her personal space isn't welcome though, and Dahlia turns around near immediately.]

Please. This town is small enough as it is without you breathing on my neck.

[She will start leaving the lab to get to that locker now.]

If it's an actual rat's nest, I trust you'll handle the rats.

[ Miach eyebrow raises - the open hostility today is actually a welcome change from how their first conversation went, but it doesn't exactly endear her to Dahlia either. ]

Who knows, maybe they'll be pleasant company.

[ More pleasant than Dahlia for sure.

But alright, when they're at that locker, is there anything to hear? ]

[There's definitely an eerie sound coming from the locker. It sounds like someone moaning, but it's kind of faint. It's not locked, so do you guys want to open it up, and see what's in there? Or would you prefer to leave this one alone?]

Huh.

[ Miach pauses for only a short moment, then reaches out for the locker handle. Whatever this is sounds more interesting than expected. ]

Here we go then.

[ If Dahlia wants to stand back before Miach unleashes whatever is in there, this is her call. The locker is being opened! ]

[Dahlia gets to the locker, not even two seconds behind Miach, and already this seems to be going stupidly. While she doubts whatever's inside is all that dangerous, there's a difference between exercising caution and doing what Miach is doing.]

Miach!! [She has to get the scolding done first ok? But she stays back and lets the girl be the meatshield here.]
