☆ WEEK TWO ( TRIAL - DAY ONE )
Trial Day #1
Saturday, Week 2

Victim
Suspects
Rise and shine, sleepyheads. At exactly 8 AM, characters will be automatically teleported to a place rather familiar to them. In fact, it seems that they were sent home! Congratulations, everyone, you've made it to the Good End-- for like, ten minutes, before they're immediately, once again, whisked away to the familiar courtrooms of last week, a world similar to the one they see in their magical phones. Soon enough, Fav, floating in front of a ginormous tree speaks up, grinning.
"April Fool's, pon~!" Because of course it would be a joke to actually send people home. "Don't worry, that joke doesn't cost any mana, so you don't have to worry about the mana drain, pon. As our apology, we'd like to offer you something else in return, pon."
And that offering is a pie in everyone's faces, no exception. "Anyway, jokes aside, today's trial is for the murder of Eliza Owens, otherwise known as Mystic Mirage, pon. You will have a break for dinner and sleep and then the trial will continue tomorrow morning! If you have any questions in regards to this trial, please feel free to let me know, and I'll try to answer it to the best of my abilities, pon! Of course, you're not allowed to ask me who the culprit is, because that would be unfair. So make sure to find the culprit and execute them properly, pon! You wouldn't want to kill an innocent person, would you?"
And now, on their magical phones, characters will finally be able to find the autopsy report as the discussion begins. At 8 PM, everyone will be dismissed to have dinner and go back to their rooms.

There's something else to consider, too.. If the killer's intended victim was truly Zack, then the killer must have additionally had some combat experience as Zack made it known to everyone that he was armed with a scythe.

[She looks at the suspect list.] Honestly, other than you, I doubt I'd discount anyone else from this wonderful lineup.

I suppose so. Then again, if you already speak with her... I suppose it's always easier to take advantage of someone who would open the door for you if asked!
[Damn... though.]
However, the culprit must've been doing something more suspicious than just knocking on doors if Eliza tried to distract them.

And I do indeed not have any kind of combat experience - I'd call myself dangerous, but armed fight is nothing I've ever practiced. After watching Zack beat up the training dummy earlier that day, it'd have been nothing but foolish to attack him.

[she got first hand experience, man]
I'm not sure what they could've possibly been doing, however. Hmm, did she even distract them at all? Perhaps she'd just left her bow tie to Zack's voice when she left.

[She smiles and continues:]
I do think they must have had some training before though, rather than purely being a reckless type. The damage done to Miss Eliza's body was minimal. This killer was cold and calculating. They knew how to end a struggle quickly and efficiently... and in a way that would have prevented Miss Eliza from shouting for help.... and they did so, even when they were caught off guard by Miss Eliza's unexpected intervention. [A pause.] ...I may be reading too deeply into this.

I do wonder about the scratches, though... We'll probably be able to look into it better when we do the room searches, but if the killer is someone who didn't act recklessly, I wonder if it might be deliberate...

Yes, I agree. They must've reacted very quickly. No hesitation, and just a short struggle-- and right for a neck to silence her as well. [Naginatas are actually a little tricky to use if they're not PSYCHED UP FOR MMMMMURDER already and such, so.] I wonder. What could they have been doing to prompt Eliza to distract them in the first place?
no subject
It's merely speculative for now, but as Miss Nanami was suggesting... could it possibly be that the killer was leaving the scratches on the walls when Miss Eliza found them? That would certainly be suspicious activity..
no subject
That makes me wonder. When I examined her body, she was in her normal clothes and not transformed. So if she did transform, she must have deactivated it before she died or it simply deactivated due to her dying? It is difficult to say as we have not directly witnessed anyone die while transformed.
no subject
Fav!
That is the best course of action, yes.
[As pissed as he is at Fav right now...]
Fav, might you be willing to explain the limitations of our transformed states? Would any sort of situation cause it to deactivate without the user purposefully doing so?
no subject
[ That's it, that's the answer. ]
no subject
That says so much about the last case too, doesn't it.]
In that case, I am inclined to agree that she very well may have gone into this while transformed.
no subject
[Though, it's a point to think on.] Would she really go patrolling, untransformed? She is naive, perhaps, but she is not so utterly braindead [TAMAMO PLS YOUR FRIEND IS DEAD] to not at least use some tools to her advantage. Hence the naginata. Another possibility is if the Magiphone is taken too far away-- such as, all the way to the school when the corpse is in the river-- it may deactivate.

As for the cause of a potential deactivation, we may as well get it sorted out for future reference.
