It's been a ride. One where they all messed up and two innocent people died in the end. Of course, nobody knows who the killer is, with the exception of Fav and his master. Nevertheless, things seem to feel a lot more solemn and melancholy this week, and Fav's announcement does not help, either.

[True, the room isn't going anywhere...and now neither is Recette since once the radio's examined, the static stops and the closet door swings shut, followed by the click of a lock.]

[Recette takes out her phone and types out an call for aid on it.]

Well... I guess it's waiting time.

[While she's waiting, she'll take a closer look at the radio. Does it work?]

[Not only does it not work, there's not even any batteries in the thing.

Spooky, right?]

[A little while later she'll hear footsteps. Edna ran as fast as she could to get to her. It takes her a moment to find the closet but when she does--]

Recette?! Are you alright?!

Lady Edna!

[She sounds so happy.]

Yeah! Just super confused on how the radio worked in the first place!

OUT OF MY WAY! STAND BACK!

[Zack's in Magical form, and he's rushing in with his scythe CUT DOWN THE DOOR LIKE JACK FROM THE SHINING. Recette may want to stand back if she doesn't want the blade poking her.]

[Well, the door's just a door, so it cuts easily enough. And for the record, everything's fine? Recette's in there, the spooky radio's in there, and...the closet. No monsters or anything horrible like that.

So it looks like you guys probably can relax and explore the room. ...wait, is that the sound of a phone ringing?]

[...Recette did enough for now. Not wanting her in any more danger in this weird room, Edna will investigate the ringing noise. If she can find the source, she'll pick it up and answer with a wary 'Who's there?']

[The ringing's coming from what appears to be a payphone shoved under the bed. On the line we've got...

Well, it's kind of cliche for there to be a creepy voice on the line, but there is. It's weird and seems like it's about to burst into laughter at any second, but it's not...threatening.]

Happy birthday! I hope you enjoyed your surprise! Everyone should get a surprise on their...oh, but it's not your birthday, is it?

[That's... absolutely unsettling. She's glad she picked it up instead of Recette.]

No. It isn't. But if you tell me who, I can pass the message along.

[What she's really looking for is a clue to who's messing with them, if she can get it.]

And if she can't show up to her own birthday, she doesn't deserve her present.

[It just keeps talking. Maybe it's a recording?]

But maybe you do! You like presents, don't you? Consider it yours!

[There's a small clunking noise, like something just fell off the underside of the bed.]

And who knows? At the rate things are going...

[The voice takes on a sinister tone here because of course it does.]

You might be able to give her the message in person!

[There's a burst of static and then...nothing.

So want to check under the bed again, Edna?]

[...Edna slowly puts the phone down when the static starts. That was... strange.

Cautiously she'll go around and stick her head under the bed, looking for the source of that noise. At least the others are just a scream away if anything else happens.]

[...somehow under the bed is pitch black, outside of a faint red glow that seems too far away to be under the bed.

Look, nothing else has made sense in this room, so this probably isn't too surprising.

Anyways, maybe stick your hand under there. Or don't. The choice is yours.]

[There is absolutely nothing ominous about this.





Fine. She's going in.

Getting on her hands and knees she crawls a short way under so she can try to reach for whatever's making that glowing light.]

[You're gonna be crawling for a while Edna, and it's...probably gross under there, honestly. It's somehow humid, and it smells bad, there's probably the sound of unseen things skittering around. Perhaps you might even catch the sound of valves turning somewhere in the distance.

Anyways, after a few minutes of crawling, she'll find the source of the glow.]

OKAY!!!

[Recette knows the drill by now and hits the deck, making sure to grab the radio as she flops to the ground in the back. They might need that!

[Heh... That door broke down like it was nothing...]

[... Oh, right. Recette's in there. Better not stab her too.]

You alright, kid?

Yup! No splinters in me or the probably haunted radio!

[She'll shoot you a thumbs up.]

[Edna releases a breath she didn't even know she was holding in.]

Good... good. Next time bring one of us with you, okay? It's dangerous to go alone.

[For any of them, now, most likely. Something... wasn't right about this town. It was getting more dangerous in more than one way. First Renji and now this...]

[Zack's not having any of this town.]

Or unarmed or something...

And what do you mean the radio's probably haunted?

There's no batteries in it but it worked before the closet shut on me.

[She shivers.]

It's super creepy!

[Huh. Guess someone should have paid attention to her reply on the network.]

Let me see that radio.

[Recette hands over the radio.]

You're not gonna smash it, are you?

Why the hell would I do that?

[He looks over the radio. Yep, no batteries. He doesn't notice anything else wrong with it unless it sticks out like a sore thumb.]
