☆ WEEK FIVE
Magical Girl Raising Project
Monday-Thursday, Week 5

13 REMAIN
Unlike the quiet of last week, the sounds of the occasional static seem to stop; the world around them seems to become more stable and fluid, as if the week prior had never happened. Hands no longer occasionally go through walls or buildings, the eggs are no longer there as well as the body they managed to complete. Just like Cinderella at the chime of midnight, everything goes back to the way it used to be, here in Town A.
Of course "used to be" is a rather loose term, as the tasks are still broken for some reason and nobody seems to appear around Town A anymore. Nevertheless, at around 9 AM in the morning, everyone's phones turn immediately on, regardless of whether they had it off or not at the time, as an announcement is made-
"Since everything is now back to normal thanks to my master, we will continue with the game, pon. There is an announcement to be made that you all would really like to hear, so make sure you all meet in the inn lobby, pon. I'll be waiting."
This is the mingle post for week five, which covers Monday (4/17) to Thursday (4/20). When posting toplevels, please specify the time and location. If you plan on having any private conversations, please notify us in the link given below.

These clothes... [His voice is a little unsteady as his eyes wander over them, unable to keep himself from speaking aloud.] They're covered in blood, but they look small enough to belong to a kid... Who could do something like that to a child?
Time to traumatize the children!
[Zack turned away from the weird cafe uniform he was looking at to face Taiki.]
... I knew that kid...
[He subtly, knowingly smirked.]
That's not his bood on his clothes.
RIP Taiki
[Taiki's eyebrows shoot up towards his hairline.]
If it's not his own blood, then... [An unsettling feeling twists up his stomach, like he'll regret asking this the moment that he does.] Whose blood was it?
CW: abuse
It's a long story...
Ya see, this kid's mom gave him to a shady orphanage after some asshole tried to burn him alive. The orphanage wasn't much better though. They didn't really care about the kids there, and really the living conditions were crappy as hell.
[Forgive the language, Zack swears at everyone.]
It got to the point where they had to hide the bodies of kids who ended up dying there, and they made that boy do the dirty work.
[He points his scythe at the bloodstained outfit, like the wretched child was standing right in front of them.]
CW: abuse
[Taiki realizes just how upset he is when his jaw starts to ache from where his teeth are clenched together. He forces himself to relax, uncurls his fingers from where they'd been tightened into fists.]
...What ended up happening to him? You said you knew him, right?
CW: abuse and graphic violence
[Zack's a bit touched by the sympathy, but the grisly tale must go on.]
Yeah, I sure do...
I also knew one of the owners just loved to watch this one movie... You know, one of those slashers where the teenagers get slaughtered by a psycho killer?
Well, they left it on one night, and the kid there watched it. Then he figured out a way to get out of that shitty orphanage.
He went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and then stabbed the shit out of those horrible owners and left. They say nobody saw the kid since...
But I can tell you where he is now.
CW: abuse and graphic violence
That the boy did that at all... That he felt like that was the only way out of his situation, and maybe it was...
Taiki doesn't have it in him to feel glad that the people who hurt the boy are dead, but he still feels angry that it happened at all.]
...I can't say what he did was right. But I'm glad he got free of them. [Taiki's voice finally softens a little.] Whether it was right or wrong, what happened to him wasn't his fault. And he did what he had to.
[Realizing how tight with tension his shoulders are, Taiki sighs and lets his muscles relax a little.] After he got away... What happened to him? Where did he go?
no subject
[He spoke to Taiki in a low, dark voice...]
You're talking to him.
[Taiki is smart. He should get the hint.]
[Doesn't that story explain why Zack is the way he is?]
no subject
[Things slot into place. More about the things Zack says and does roll through his mind's eye, suddenly clear in a way they never were before. Even that first day they met, when Zack had needed someone to write his name for him, instantly - and painfully - make sense.
He's quiet for a very long moment. Not even sure what to say, because what can you ever say to someone who has been through that?
But eventually, the words will softly leave him.] I know it... probably isn't worth much, but... I'm sorry for everything you went through.
no subject
[Then why isn't the kid scared of him? Zack's smile slowly faded as the kid just became concerned.]
[Yes, he nodded to awnser Taiki's question. But the longer the awkward silence, the more the emotional apology got to him.]
[Zack just smiled, more melancholy than spiteful, and put a hand on the kid's head.]
Hey,it's not your fault my life's so fucked up.
[... Heh.]
Though, to be honest, if I had met you anywhere else, your giddy fucking grin would have driven me to kill ya.
