Monday-Thursday, Week 5

13 REMAIN

Unlike the quiet of last week, the sounds of the occasional static seem to stop; the world around them seems to become more stable and fluid, as if the week prior had never happened. Hands no longer occasionally go through walls or buildings, the eggs are no longer there as well as the body they managed to complete. Just like Cinderella at the chime of midnight, everything goes back to the way it used to be, here in Town A.

Of course "used to be" is a rather loose term, as the tasks are still broken for some reason and nobody seems to appear around Town A anymore. Nevertheless, at around 9 AM in the morning, everyone's phones turn immediately on, regardless of whether they had it off or not at the time, as an announcement is made-

"Since everything is now back to normal thanks to my master, we will continue with the game, pon. There is an announcement to be made that you all would really like to hear, so make sure you all meet in the inn lobby, pon. I'll be waiting."

Morgue

[Does anyone else actually visit the morgue besides the mean girls? That is the question to be asked here.

Miach is going to get a rather judgmental stare from Szayel as he checks up on the state of the drawers.]

I cannot say that I see live bodies on those tables very often. Well, ones lying on them for fun, at least. Really Miach, that is direct contamination of the table.

[Despite the look of judgment, he's joking for the most part. It's not like they have a reason to dissect the other corpses right now.]

[ It's the next best thing they have to a club room at this point!

Miach sits up to get a better look at Szayel and laughs at the comment, obviously neither bothered nor in any hurry to get off her inappropriate spot. ]

It's not as though they have any intent of letting us examine anything interesting - if that's ever the case, I will personally disinfect here.

If only they would. I would like to conduct some thorough research instead of simple observation for once.

[Should he really be talking about his desire to dissect something...]

[ Well, Miach only smiles at that. ]

Whenever that time comes, I'd like to see it take place for real. It's likely to be an... educational experience.

[ She's miffed at the Renjiblocking for more than one reason :|

Show her the gross side of science and medicine, let her see it's not all pure and lifesaving.... it sounds great to witness in person... ]

[He makes a short glance at the drawers. More specifically, the ones with accessible corpses in them.]

It is not as though we are completely barred from performing a thorough investigation. It may simply not reveal anything crucial.

[In other words, they'd be desecrating one of their former members for the hell of it.

Naturally, this scenario is something Szayel would so much as consider.]

I was going to say that we probably don't want people against us in this specific situation, but it stands to argue that there is a decent chance nobody would even notice. Most people aren't so keen to come down here anyway.

How many angry letters do you suppose we'll receive from the dead if we do this?

[They do have to take them into consideration, apparently. He still doesn't really care, but Miach might.]

I suppose there's always a chance we get assaulted by food items before we can even get started, too. ... might be a matter of picking the person least likely to care about their mortal remains.

Well, you didn't bring any food down here, did you?

[Because that's clearly the only thing they can get assaulted with.]

Do you know anyone who would have had that view? Ah, and I suppose we'll have to count a few out by default, on account of the fact that they have very little remains to begin with.

Yeah, I somehow cannot imagine Beyond would have minded much, but he's a pair of eyes so that's pointless. For the others.... I could not say.

[ They could cut eyeballs open but there is really nothing to be learned from that. That's just gross for the sake of being gross. ]

[Maybe it would be interesting to cut open some eyeballs with Shinigami Eyes...but they don't even know about that, so it definitely seems pointless.

Hm.]

I suppose we may as well just contain our desire and wait to see if anyone else manages to stumble into the impurity.
