18 REMAIN...?

This week has been absurdly strange. From Fav bringing his "friend" over to force people to have their wishes granted via murder to the fact that the arcade makes a lot of people uncomfortable. I mean, who wouldn't be, when it spells out a lot of people's life stories in it? It honestly is surreal. Nevertheless, things seem to be quiet at first... at least, until people decide to exit their rooms in the Inn (sorry, Miach and One) and take a whiff of that Breath of the Wild that you might have been stuck playing on last night--

Except for the immediate fact that the first thing people in the inn will smell is the faint, coppery smell of blood in the morning. In fact, there's a whole trail of it that leads to various places depending on which floor you're staying at the inn. And there might be some blood outside, too...

[After a day with his old scythe back, it's no wonder he decided to sleep in until 10AM.]

[If there's blood on the second floor of the inn, he's gonna notice it as soon as he walks out of his room.]

funny story about that, Zack. A good majority of the blood is pooled literally right in front of his room. Good luck with that. The trail seems to lead downstairs and not only that, from across the hall of his door, there's a small dent in the wall. ]

[And so her trail leads her here. Right to...]

...you're alive.

[BRILLIANT DEDUCTION.]

No shit, Sherlock.

[You picked a bad day to be dumber than him.]

Did you see any dead bodies downstairs?

[breakingthrough]

No. I followed a trail in the lobby up here and found you and a pool of blood. What was I supposed to think?

[SHRUG.]

Then if it didn't come from you...

[...great. Not what she wanted to do today.]

Way ahead of you...

[Let's find out who croaked.]

Did you hear anything weird this morning? Any bumps or crashes or people? If they were right outside, you might have been able to hear something...

[It seems like a fair enough question.]

I was sleeping like a log, so I probably missed it.

[He was exhausted from fighting the training dummy, ok?]

[Well it doesn't help, but she's investigated with him enough to trust him now. So that leaves their next step--]

Hmm... there was also a trail that lead outside. We should probably check out there.

[Hi, friends, I was sent by the academy

She's not quite at the top of the stairs, so she misses Edna's last point, and makes this incredibly redundant addition:]

...This doesn't look good. There's blood all the way downstairs.

[He'll do that when he's done dealing with the woman shouting accusitory things at him.]

[zackthekiller]

[Is someone trying to frame him for murder?! Because he's not having it.]

[He goes to inspect the dent in the wall before following the trail downstairs.]

[ Who knows. It seems to be not too big of a dent, but it's there nevertheless. It's not too high off the ground either; rather, it's a little over 4 feet off the ground.

What he'll also notice on this wall -- as well as the wall near his room is that there are scratches on it now, too. At least, whatever it was avoided the doors? ]

[Was something trying to get into his room?]

[WAS THIS SOMEONE HE KNOWS?]

[He'll inspect the scratches.]

[ Each scratch seems to vary in size and length and is actually rather random in placement. Some are higher than others and some are lower, but most of them don't reach higher than about six feet high. ]

[He feels his hand on one of the scratches. How deep do they go?]

[ Not very deep, actually. ]

[...So guess who's having a bit of a misunderstanding while following the blood trail up to your room.]

Y-you!!

[zackthekiller]

Huh-?!

[He turned around.]

Hey! Don't look at me, I just woke up to see all this shit!

[He doesn't look like he's covered in fresh blood, and he left his door open, so maybe she might see there aren't any bloody footprints leading into his room.]

[breakingthrough]

He's dumb, but not dumb enough to bring a trail of blood right to his door, don't you think?

[She never thought she'd be defending you but here it is.]

Calm down and let's just find out what really happened.

[sedatedkiss]

Someone smart would try to frame themselves, don't you think? At least if they had to leave a mess.

[Joshua shrugs. But it's his two cents.]

Right. And this is Zack we're talking about.

[Dahlia takes a couple of deep breaths herself and recompose. At the very least she knows the accusation is premature all things considered. She'll just peer into his room real quick, take a proper look at Zack now that he's facing her, but one last thing is on her mind:]

Where's your scythe?

[zackthekiller]

In my room, you want me to get it real quick?

[Sure enough, it's leaning on the wall next to his bed.]

[He may as well join this party...

Joshua's just giving him an accusatory look, then he sighs.]
